Take A Look FAQ

You got questions? We got answers!

It looks like Take A Look is just for people who have websites up and running. But I don’t. All my stuff is on a document…somewhere. Can I still get your help?

For sure! Take A Look is for any entrepreneur that needs feedback. If your copy isn’t yet on your site (and really – you’re still working on it – why would it be?) I’m happy to look at in on a Google Doc and give you the input you need.

So, how does this work?

You submit the link to your content along with any comments or requests you may have for me. Kick back and relax;  In 2 business days, your feedback will hit your inbox in the form of a Dropbox video. That’s it – one click of a button and you get the feedback you need to create the business you want.

What exactly am I writing in that “Additional Information” box?

Here’s where you can make your feedback even better – be sure to tell me what you’d like feedback on! If you send me a sales page, be sure to say “I have no idea how to describe my program in a compelling fashion – I need the most help there”. If you direct my eyes to what you most need – you’ll get it! On the other hand, sometimes you’re lost and you just need general help. Which I totally understand. Just let me know and I’ll get you back on track.

But….what if I screw it up and send you the wrong thing and you can’t review it?

Not a problem! If I can’t review your work for whatever reason (broken link, missing material, etc), I’ll reach out to ask for the right material via the email address provided to PayPal.

You said if my copy isn’t live to put it on a Google Doc – can I send it to you some other way?

Really, I prefer Google Docs. BUT! If you really can’t for some reason, please send your copy to me in some format that doesn’t require me to download anything. Viruses and my computer do *not* get along.

Is this just for copy? I have a LOT of questions about EVERYTHING.

When I first started out, I did, too! And I’m happy to help you with whatever you need; Copy, layout, content, subject lines, “Does this make sense?”, “What do I do next?”, and even delicate situations that pop up. Take A Look is basically a way for you to get private coaching without having to invest the money or months you usually need.

So…what exactly can I send you to review?

That’s a GREAT question. You want to limit what you send to one item or one set of items. Here’s what I mean; Let’s say you send me one sales page to review. I’m going to be able to give you really in-depth feedback on where and how to make that sales page stronger. Now, let’s say you send me your entire website – including that same sales page. You’re going to get much more general feedback simply because a deep review of every single page would take days. And days. So be specific with your requests and you’ll be much happier with your feedback. As far as what you can send – just about anything business related: emails to send, emails you’ve received, PDFs, sales pages, web site layouts, launch strategies/questions, program content. If it’s related to your online business and you have a question, send it to me!

So, how long will my feedback be?

Good question. It depends on what you send me. If you send a quick question, your feedback may be just a few minutes. And, I’d love to say there’s no upper limit to how long I’ll give feedback….but then someone will send me a whole webinar, 2 sales pages, and a email funnel and I’ll be busy for hours. So let’s just say if I provide 20 minutes of feedback, I reserve the right to end it there. If I go longer, awesome – you got some free feedback!

Can I send you a video to review?

Of course. You’ll want to limit your videos to under 10 minutes. That gives me time to watch the whole thing and still give you some in-depth feedback.

Will you write some copy for me?

Take A Look is a service to provide you feedback. Writing copy is a whole other ballgame. I’ll provide sample suggestions of how things might sound better* but if you need me to write copy for you, email me at Becky@BeckyLDuncan.com and let’s talk.

*Keep in mind my suggestions are guides that I create off the top of my head. They are not given the research and care of proper copy so I never suggest using my “off the cuff copy”.

When you say you’ll give us feedback, what exactly do you mean?

Most of the time, I make a video. It allows me to give you faster, more in depth feedback. You can check out a sample here:

Occasionally, I may deem it more effective to reply via email or audio. Your feedback will be specific to you and your business.

And then, do I get to keep the feedback?

Oh yeah. It’s yours forever. The Dropbox link will be active for one week from the time you receive your feedback. YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD YOUR FEEDBACK IF YOU’D LIKE TO KEEP IT. After that, the laws of storage physics dictate it may be lost in a fit of space saving. So, seriously, download and save your feedback.

How do you know all this?

I’ve been an entrepreneur for a long time. I worked as a Business Manager for a few big, online companies. I’ve been in the tear-filled trenches and I’m happy to make things more clear for you. Plus, I have a big network of entrepreneur friends so, if I don’t know something, I’ll track down someone who does!

Do I need to tell you everything about my business?

Nope! The beauty of it is that you get to see me interact with your copy in the same way a stranger online would. And, odds are, they won’t know much about your business either. So most of the time, you don’t need to tell me too much. But, if you think there’s a special case, feel free to add any details I may need to the “Additional Information” box or to your Google Doc.

How much does this cost?

A round of feedback is $29. Now, think of how many more sales you’ll make with your newer, stronger, more magnetic copy…

Hey! I tried to sign up and I couldn’t fit everything I wanted to say into that little box!

It’s okay. Just leave me a note at the top of the Google Doc you included when you signed up.

Ummm…I signed up and didn’t include my link and/or screwed up some other way.

Yeah. It happens. You can email me at Becky@BeckyLDuncan.com. BUT! Please email me from the address associated with your PayPal account. Otherwise it creates a very weird game of “match the emails” that I rarely win.

Hey! I’m going to email you my stuff and then just send a payment – is that okay?

Please don’t. I mean – please email me and we can get caught up on baseball or UFC or how hot Timothy Olyphant still is. But when you send me links to look at via email and then the payment, it creates a weird game of Guess Who that I’m probably going to lose. When you fill out the payment page however, PayPal sends me everything at once, keeping me stress-free and clear-headed to review your work. Really, it’s a win win.

Can we meet to go over my questions and get my feedback live?

Yes! Feedback is great but sometimes, you just want to have a live meeting and go over it together. There are two ways to make that happen:

  1. Set up as many 30 minute, 1:1 coaching sessions as you’d like for $75 each. Just pick a time that works for you and let the feedback begin!
  2. Let’s meet in person! You’re welcome to turn any of your coaching sessions into a personal meeting. We’ll meet in my neighborhood (in Chicago!) and go over your work. Drinks on me!

So…where to do I sign up?

Oh, I like you already. You can sign up here.

Wait – I feel like I should read the Terms & Conditions first.

I couldn’t agree more. You can check out the Terms and Conditions here.
